  • Young Performers Composition Program
    Founded and Directed (1992–2009)
Created intensive year-long collaborations between advanced high school age composers and professional performing ensembles. Collaborators included Longy faculty and artist-in-residence ensembles, a professional choreographer, and numerous professional ensembles from outside the school (including Quartet X, the Hausmann Quartet, Vento Chiaro, and members of A Far Cry). Nearly all students went on to study composition at conservatories and universities and many have pursued professional careers in composition, receiving commissions from major ensembles including the Kronos Quartet, A Far Cry, and the Beaux Arts Trio.
