Program Note

The three movements of “Seasons from a Poet’s Life” are based on three songs from “Letting Go,” a song cycle setting of six poems by Donald Hall. The texts are Hall’s reflections on the death of his wife, Jane Kenyon (The Wish), on childhood (The Child), and on the death of his father (White Apples).
