Frazin’s new work, An Unexpected Encounter, is a modest piece, a kind of rolling, sighing adagio indebted to Barber in its elegiac mood and in its chosen sound world. The Criers, as they have dubbed themselves, gave the work a well-prepared and lucid reading.
